Black Man

Thank you for loving me patiently, caringly, kindly

Please do not cease caressing me with your kind words

Baby… I like… how you call me to you

With your eyes, body, spirit, and soul.

I respond to you with all of me

Nothing will I withhold

Hold me close to you

Your heart beat sings to me

Your embrace fits me perfectly

Let me stay a little while in tune with you and me

The world stops

Frozen

While your love touches me intimately

I look up as your beauty your eyes wash over me

Baptized

Truth is I loved you the first time I saw you walk by

Like water.. tall dark African Prince… refreshing

Delicate

Like a dream and you touched me with your words

Embraced me with your look

Hello It’s Me

Loneliness comes at any given moment

Like a glorious horizon

A gloomy storm ahead

You never know what comes next

You insist to cry in bed

Your world seems so cold and dark

You feel all alone

Maybe it’s something to cherish

Even though you cannot bare it

Get to know

Who’s really behind those eyes…?

It’s ok to cry

Look at the brighter side

Happiness

Remember life’s fun times

Learn from your mistakes

Maybe then from your loneliness

You will choose to wake.

Cape Coast

Cape Coast

I visited the Cape Coast during my Cultural Studies tour in Ghana West Africa…there was a door that upon existing said “Door of No Return”…oh how my heart ached for my ancestors who passed through that door never to see their loved ones or homeland again. I stepped through that door, looked upon the Atlantic ocean, felt the warm sun upon my face, the wind whispering, and heard the crashing waves upon the rocky shore. My soul cried within me as I remembered them…tears gentle falling from my face…turning back to enter the door I forgave.
