Please come out and support my work. I’m excited to participate in this Exhibit and will be doing an Artist talk March 6th in remembrance and celebration of my late brother Keith Birthday.
A few pieces from my newest work will be on display. If you all recall, I started an urban art residency at the Legacy Building on 1105 MLK in Tacoma 2022 which has been a phenomenal experience. Two of my newest works will be available for viewing: Hues of Purple and Abstract Series 1 which is my contemporary salute to Malcom X.
I look forward to meeting you all in person and connect with other local Artist from the area. Big Shout Out!!! To the panel at the Tacoma Community College Gallery that selected me to participate in this show. I’m honored being an alumni 2007 graduate.
Hello Fall Weather,
It is most definitely that time of year where it’s windy, chilly, sunny, or rainy at any given moment. I have some beautiful handcrafted matching hats and scarves done by my lovely grandmother. If you would like to purchase a set for yourself or a friend purchases can be made via my online store on Facebook @ ND Art Studios LLC. Arrangements can also be made locally for pickup please send order request to ndartstudios@gmail.com and put “Scarves and Hat” in the subject line.

This past weekend was amazing. First I enjoyed a magnificent concert Friday night at the Moore Theatre with Soweto Gospel Choir. I’ve heard their previous albums and knew it was a must to hear them live and what a true blessing. I cried, I clapped, I sang, I listened, and my entire body was shaking with the positive vibration by way of South Africa released into the atmosphere. The drummers, the solos, eye contact, and the tribute they did to African Americans had me lit 🔥.
Next my family and I headed to matinee Sunday to see WAKANDA…..oh my my my…..again blown away with the beautiful explosion of culture, color, vibrations, and the great story line. The film was full of powerful messages. One is that we must be willing to sacrifice all to uplift and empower the next generation by all means. Create space for them to shine and watch them thrive. 🙏❤️
Black is beautiful indeed and my heart just overflowed with all the love and celebration of all that my people encompass 🙏

Yesterday, I had brief moment to paint. The Front View is my current piece at work. I studied the photos last taken of the piece over a two to three week period. It was a release to get the ideas from my mind.

I look forward to add the minor details, colors, and other components that will complete this beautiful narrative piece.

In the Introspection Collection you can see my abstract version of covid virus attacking heathy cells, there are red hearts in solidarity with Black Lives Matter, and blue hearts in solidarity with our Police Force, there is a pulse throughout each piece in the colors of Black Cultural Pride and our resilience. -Red, Black, and Green-

The Introspection Collection is a series created during the Covid 19 lock down Phase 1. I was in the home with my two babies and made use of recycled wood, paper mache technique, and acrylic paint for the entire series which took a few months to complete.

Recap of my thoughts during the lock down.
Summer Fest was a blast. Lakewood is a beautiful city, the community is diverse, and it was a joy watching the young people paint.
ND Art Studios donated 55 canvas plus and when we ran out we used paper plates and when that ran out we used notebook paper. The young people enjoyed painting and being creative. The messages they had to share where heart warming and authentic.

Hey ,
I am excited for this event as a small business owner and an Artist. This is a family fun event for all ages. Come out and support by your presence.
ND Art Studios will have a booth with Arts Activity free to the public while supplies last.
Hope to see you there .
It’s hard enough to love others let alone oneself; however, to neglect or deprive yourself of self love is to leave room open for whatever comes your way disguised as “love”.
What I have learned is the world is full of miserable people who hate themselves. This self hatred or self loathing exudes in their interactions with others. It is unfortunate the saying’, “Hurt people… hurt people”.
My value system is based in Protestant teachings which says, “ love your enemies”. Imagine the task of loving your enemies. Human nature doesn’t allow us to love in such circumstances or compel us to give water to someone who knowing hates us.
I have concluded to love is divine. The gift of choice has been given to us all. In my human nature I chose to surrender to love. In that moment love spills through my brokenness and heals me and all those around me. Hatred just like MLK said, “ is to great a burden to bear”.
Love yourself so others can be healed.
