Engage. Inspire. Create.

It was refreshing to spend a couple hours today in the development of the Front View. There is much details to be added and I have had a month to contemplate color scheme and other unique details. This piece will be mixed media and I look forward to share with you as the vision fully manifest.

Today was productive and contemplative as this piece from my Collage series came together. It already has a home so won’t be on the market for sale.

In the Introspection Collection you can see my abstract version of covid virus attacking heathy cells, there are red hearts in solidarity with Black Lives Matter, and blue hearts in solidarity with our Police Force, there is a pulse throughout each piece in the colors of Black Cultural Pride and our resilience. -Red, Black, and Green-

The Introspection Collection is a series created during the Covid 19 lock down Phase 1. I was in the home with my two babies and made use of recycled wood, paper mache technique, and acrylic paint for the entire series which took a few months to complete.

Recap of my thoughts during the lock down.
In 1999, I created a series of collage art pieces and through the years utilized collage technique to create personal vision boards. The latest series for my mixed media pieces use up-cycled scrap wood, paper mache technique, old newspapers, and collage technique. The series is unnamed for now but it first stage which was paper mache took couple months to dry. Now that the pieces are dry I started to apply clips to develop the collage series of 5.
I have chosen some of my favorite Artist and Community Leaders to add to the mixed media pieces and look forward to the full development of ideas for each unique piece to this collection.

Diverse and yet cohesive in bringing various shapes, sizes, and colors together. I had to create a custom frame for my painting that complimented the piece while keeping the painting as the center of attention.
