Soul cries as I soar. Once one has stepped out of the comfort zone, box, square, peg, whatever….it is like stepping off a drop off. Its scary when one is entering unchartered territory in the movement of living ones dreams. Dream in the sense of actual goals for which effort, heart, passion, and sweat and tears have been invested. During the time I was attending the Evergreen State College Tacoma campus the symbol that was in my school folder was a black and white news paper clipping of a Bald Eagle. The cry is no longer fear, sorrow, or uncertainty. This cry is victory cry.

A native to the Pacific Northwest, born and raised in Tacoma Washington, and coming from a line of Artist my artistic expression began as a small child. My inspiration comes from nature, everyday life scenes, architecture, and cloud formations expressed in my photography, paintings, drawings or mixed media pieces. The Four Seasons provide me with ample inspiration for color combinations. My strong interest in fashion, trade skills, and painting slowly evolved into my mixed media pieces utilizing wood, fabric, and paint (acrylic or oil) which bring vivid life to my ideas that start out as drawings. My work can be abstract or descriptive when doing mountain scenes, portraits, nature scenes, or story-board art. I am a story-teller sharing my story, my heritage, my culture, my struggle, my triumph, my joy, and my happiness while simultaneously being a voice to the voiceless. I am a first year graduate student of Public Health and Entrepreneur. My dream is to establish and run a non-profit organization which will build self-sustaining hospitals in rural areas of Africa to provide solution to unnecessary deaths due to minor injury because of lack of accessibility to medical facilities. We will also build Community Resource Centers which will belong to the community providing free space for community events, indoor sports space for youth, classrooms for continued education, and library with computer lab. It is my goal to utilize my artistic voice and all funds and proceeds from the sale of my work to support my projects in Africa. Legacy building is very important so making a difference in the world, networking, mentoring, collaborating, and giving back are ways to leave positive mark in the world.
